Curious people who want to touch your cameras. More so kids. They can move like lightning. If a camera isn’t in hand, it’s someplace secure.

I enjoy they’re curiousity but not with expensive gear! I keep a few old cameras on hand for the kids to tinker with when they visit.

Sand and salt can grind down to dust sized and picked up on the breeze. Unless you have a sealed camera and lens (don’t change lenses) you might as well add a clean, lube and adjust to your schedule.

As for sunscreen and bug spray, add hand sanitizer and moisturizer. I’ve seen that stuff take lettering on of key, buttons and dials. You can remove a bumper sticker with that stuff. Worse, it makes the sand, dust and salt stick to you.

Moisture/condensation is hard to avoid. Get a few silica gel packets from the hardware store.

As for “wet”, I keep a “toss away” camera for that. No matter how well you try, water finds a way. It’s worse than sand, dust, and salt. Unless you’re creating a huge print, high IQ fog, snow, and rain isn’t all that important. If it is important, get a marine housing.

One I’m not seeing here is heat. Black cameras look cool, but they can get hot in the sun. The camera may think it’s overheating and shut down. A cool pack somewhere in your bag can help. It doesn’t have to be big, Put it in a side pocket so the condensation doesn’t reach the camera.

The only tip I would make is to always have the lens hood attached in crowded areas.

keep silica gels with it and you are fine change them every time you open the jar after three times or 5 (replace silica gel or moisture absorbers moisture munchers)

When changing lenses, hold the lens and attach the camera to it. By holding the lens firmly, and moving the camera, if your hand slips, the camera is usually on a strap. If you’re moving the lens and you hand slips, it can be disastrous.

I don’t know if or if not it could harm the camera or not. but most likely nothing can get to it.
